This cake concludes a fantastic year of weekly cooking classes with @quickestgirl and I couldn't be more grateful for how you nurtured each kid in the group. With thoughtful encouragement, positivity and your usual tell-it-like-it-is can-do make-do fortitude, you brought out the best in all our kitchens. One of my most treasured things is getting drawings (and zines) from kids.
This gem was drawn by one of my kickass students who I have only seen in zoom windows since last March 💔. They explained that they made my chest smaller because they thought I’d like it. And then I said oh! My chest is flat now, I’ve had top surgery. And they said “cool. I think I really got your hair though!”

They have all caught the zine bug! If you can’t be playing Among Us, make a zine about it instead. I LOVE instant-book style zines. I keep a little sandwich bag of blank zines in my bag, always at the ready for inspiration.
